Staff Bio

Amelia Amezquita joined Jamestown Community Center in 2023 and is inspired daily by the organization’s mission to serve youth, families, and the broader community. What keeps her at Jamestown is a deep belief in the power of community-based work and the meaningful impact it creates.

Amelia brings a strong background in finance and nonprofit administration, with several years of experience managing accounting operations, audits, and financial transitions for community-based organizations. In her current role in Jamestown’s Finance Department, she supports daily operations, grant billing, reporting, and system integrations that help ensure the organization operates efficiently and responsibly in support of its programs.

She studied accounting and business administration and has continued to expand her expertise through hands-on experience working with multiple financial systems. Amelia combines technical knowledge with a strong commitment to transparency and accountability, helping ensure that financial processes remain aligned with Jamestown’s mission and values.

Amelia is deeply passionate about community building and believes in the power of collaboration to create lasting impact. She values authenticity, teamwork, and continuous learning, both in her own professional journey and in how she supports colleagues across the organization.

Outside of work, Amelia enjoys spending time with loved ones, resting, and working on her family farm, where she currently cares for ducks, turkeys, chickens, and quails—with plans to add rabbits and goats next. She loves taking on creative and hands-on projects, including photography, woodworking, embroidery, quilting, and cooking. Amelia is also exploring emerging technologies such as agentic AI and continues her medical studies. A vegetarian for over 20 years, her favorite food is Thai cuisine. She loves The Lorax by Dr. Seuss and her favorite movie is Interstellar. During especially busy seasons, a strong espresso is always appreciated.
