Staff Bio

Nancy Hernandez has been a dedicated member of Jamestown Community Center since October 2005. What inspires her most is the opportunity to give back to the community where she was born and raised. Nancy values the strong sense of familia within Jamestown and the connection across generations, finding it deeply rewarding to see former participants return as staff to continue passing on their experiences and knowledge.

Nancy holds a certification in Safety Care through QBS and a Youth Development certification from San Francisco State University with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). Her education and certifications support her commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for youth and families.

Throughout her time at Jamestown, Nancy has grown from a tutor to a leadership role, where she continues to support youth and families in her community. She appreciates how Jamestown equips young people with the skills they need to grow into confident leaders and engaged community members.

Outside of work, Nancy enjoys camping, cooking, and attending rodeos. She loves homemade foods, especially fresh beans cooked in a pot, freshly made tortillas, and chile negro salsa.
