Q: How do I know if I can participate in Jamestown programs? A: Our programs are open to all families at BVHM, JL, CC, Longfellow. We do have a prioritization process during enrollment.

Q: How do I register my kid(s)? A: We try to meet as many families needs as possible. We offer on-school registration fairs in the early morning or early evening. These fairs usually take place at the beginning of March. See your afterschool coordinator for more information.

Q: Why is there a $75 fee? Is this refundable? A: In order for Jamestown to prepare best and hire the right amount of staffing when the school year begins, we enroll students in advance to give us an idea of who we will be expecting in the fall...We want to be prepared and ready for all our kids! We ask families for a $75 deposit if they are planning to attend afterschool (and/or Morning Care). Although the $75 is NON-refundable, we do apply it to your first-month’s payment.

This needs to be a recent letter dated 2019 or 2020. You will need to provide annual proof with updated dates.  To re-apply: click here to go to SFUSD application.

A: We offer a sliding scale option for families to participate in our program. All you need to do is bring copies of your 2019 income taxes and we will help you find your payment options. We call this a partial scholarship.

Although we prefer children attend our programming 5 days a week to build strong relationships with their after school teachers and not miss out on enrichment activities, we understand some families have conflicting activities outside of school.

Q: What is Drop in? A: Sometimes life happens! We offer families the drop-in option. Families will need to be registered prior to purchasing a pre-set package of 10 hours. Hours can be used as needed. If you run out, you can purchase more online using our online payment form.

If you miss the 1st deadline, you will be charged on a recurring schedule until you notify Jamestown office of the changes to your account.

Q: I need my child to finish homework. Can you help? A: We offer all students a time and space to complete homework. We help kids focused on their task and do take little notes to remind us how focused each child was on their task or if they were really focused and yet still did not complete homework.

Q: I work late. Can I pick up at 6pm? A: Pick up times depend on your home school. Always check in with the site manager if anything comes up. If there is no communication and children are not picked up by a specified site time, staff may be required to notify the authorities.

Q: I registered before the registration deadline. Why am I on the waitlist? A: We want to be as equitable as possible for all our families. We offer an enrollment process to help us streamline our enrollment. Be sure you have submitted all required items.

Q: How do you prioritize enrollment? A: Enrollment priority is granted first to returning participants with a priority registration deadline then teacher recommendations and finally on a first come, first serve.
